University of Edinburgh Offers £5,000 Data Analytics Scholarship for Online MSc Programme

The University of Edinburgh's Business School has announced a merit-based scholarship for applicants holding an offer for the MSc Data and Decision Analytics (Online) programme commencing in September 2026.

EDINBURGH, UK – June 11, 2026 – The University of Edinburgh’s Business School has announced a merit-based scholarship for applicants holding an offer for the MSc Data and Decision Analytics (Online) programme commencing in September 2026.

The Business School Data Analytics (Online) Scholarship provides awards of £5,000 to successful candidates, paid directly towards tuition fees in two equal instalments – one in the first year and one in the second year of the part-time online programme.

Scholarship criteria and eligibility

The scholarship is open to all offer holders – whether holding conditional or unconditional offers – who have firmly accepted their place or intend to do so. Candidates must demonstrate strong academic performance, along with the potential to contribute to and enrich all aspects of the Masters programme.

The selection panel will also consider excellent professional and personal skills evidenced through work experience and extracurricular activities. Successful scholars are expected to participate occasionally as ambassadors for the Business School during and after their programme.

To be eligible, applicants must hold an active offer throughout the scholarship application process. If an offer is declined at any point up until the scholarship decision deadline, the candidate will no longer be eligible. Applications can only be submitted once per admissions cycle.

Exclusions apply

Certain candidates will not be eligible for this scholarship. These include individuals who are fully sponsored by an employer, those in receipt of a full scholarship, candidates who have already accepted another scholarship from the University of Edinburgh, and applicants who submit a scholarship application prior to having secured an offer for the study programme.

The university also notes that only one University of Edinburgh scholarship can be accepted by any single student.

Application process and key dates

The scholarship application process opened on March 16, 2026. However, crucially, applicants must first secure an offer of a place on the MSc Data and Decision Analytics programme before they can submit a scholarship application through the University Scholarship Application system.

Once an offer has been received, candidates can access the online scholarship application form via EUCLID, accessible through MyEd, the university’s web-based information portal. Logging in requires a University User Name and password. The university advises that it can take up to 10 working days following the submission of a study application for access to be granted.

Important deadlines

The deadline for scholarship applications is 23:59 on July 1, 2026. Decisions will be communicated by July 31, 2026.

Scholarships must be accepted by the deadline defined in the scholarship award letter. If a successful candidate does not accept and pay the required Masters programme deposit within the given timeframe, they will forfeit both the scholarship offer and the programme offer. The Business School will then re-allocate the scholarship.

Furthermore, any scholarship is automatically withdrawn if a candidate declines their programme offer or fails to meet the conditions set out in their programme offer letter.

About the programme

The MSc Data and Decision Analytics (Online) is designed for professionals seeking to develop advanced skills in data analysis, statistical modelling, and decision-making frameworks. Delivered fully online through the University of Edinburgh, one of the world’s leading universities and a member of the prestigious Russell Group, the programme allows students to balance rigorous academic study with professional and personal commitments.

Prospective applicants who have not yet applied for the MSc programme are advised to do so immediately, as the scholarship deadline of July 1, 2026, is fast approaching and access to the scholarship application system requires an active programme offer.

For further assistance, applicants can refer to the “Applying for a scholarship through MyEd” pages, University Systems support and guidance pages, or the Scholarships System FAQs for Applicants.
