Dr. Barrington Wint Memorial Scholarship Fund
Supporting Careers in Healthcare
The scholarship aims to provide financial assistance for persons currently enrolled or accepted into tertiary-level academic programmes in all health careers.
Objectives
1. To provide financial assistance to new and continuing students pursuing education and training in healthcare-related fields.
2. To promote careers in health-related fields.
Closing date: Friday, July 10, 2026
Level
The scholarship is open to both undergraduate and post graduate levels of study.
Enrollment
New students should be currently accepted to their programme of study.
GPA
Current students should have a GPA of 2.75 or above.
Duration
The scholarship will cover study for a maximum of 5 years only.
Award
The maximum scholarship will be for 1 Million Jamaican Dollars.
Scholarship payout
The scholarship will be paid directly to the training institution and can be used to cover tuition and fees only.

Health Student
Currently enrolled in a Health based programme
Health Employee
Staff of MOHW, Departments and RHAs currently enrolled in or accepted to a health-based programme
Voluntary History
Evidence of a service culture
Guarantors
Each applicant should have two guarantors to support the application
Essays & Recommendations
Prepare a 500-word personal statement on why/how you would benefit from the scholarship and two recommendations from Faculty/Supervisors
