Commission on Administrative Justice Shortlists 10 Candidates for CEO Position – Interviews Set for June 16, 2026

The Commission on Administrative Justice, also known as the Office of the Ombudsman, has shortlisted 10 candidates for the position of Commission Secretary and Chief Executive Officer. A total of 40 applications were received when the advertisement closed.
Interviews for the shortlisted candidates will be conducted on June 16, 2026.
About the Recruitment Process
Pursuant to Article 59(4) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, as read together with Section 16 of the Commission on Administrative Justice Act, 2011, the commission commenced the recruitment process for the position of Commission Secretary and Chief Executive Officer.
The position is one of the most senior leadership roles in Kenya’s oversight institutions. The Commission Secretary and CEO is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Office of the Ombudsman, which handles complaints about administrative injustices in the public sector.

About the Commission on Administrative Justice
The Commission on Administrative Justice, also known as the Office of the Ombudsman, is established under Article 59(4) of the Constitution of Kenya. The commission investigates complaints about administrative actions taken by government agencies, public officers, and other state entities.
The Commission Secretary and Chief Executive Officer is the accounting officer of the commission and is responsible for implementing its strategic objectives.
What Happens Next
After the interviews on June 16, the commission will select the most suitable candidate for the position. The name of the successful candidate will be forwarded to the relevant authorities for appointment.
