Women in Tech is part of the bank’s commitment to fostering gender equality and driving innovation in the rapidly evolving technological landscape, aimed at empowering and supporting women entrepreneurs in the technology sector.
Standard Chartered has partnered with WomHub on this programme to provide a platform for aspiring women entrepreneurs in South African STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing) industries, developing their innovative tech-based business ideas and accelerating their growth. The programme will also offer a comprehensive range of resources, including mentorship, training, networking opportunities, access to funding, and a supportive community of like-minded individuals. Through a comprehensive curriculum the initiative aims to cultivate a supportive ecosystem that enables women to thrive and overcome barriers that hold them back.
Programme Benefits:
- The 15 selected participants will undergo a 4-month incubator programme designed to accelerate their business growth.
- Focused sessions on developing personal growth and leadership skills, empowering participants to lead their ventures successfully.
- Participants will have the chance to network with potential investors and partners, providing valuable opportunities to secure funding and scale their businesses.
- An exciting pitch competition where the top 5 winners will be awarded $10,000 each.
- Individual mentoring and financial coaching for the 5 winners over a 3-month period, offering personalized guidance and support.
