Greenfield Services is an agricultural inputs and extension services company that supplies seeds, fertilisers, crop protection products, and agronomic advice to farmers in the Rift Valley, Western, and Central regions of Kenya. Established in 2004, Greenfield works with over 30,000 registered farmers and operates thirty retail agrovet outlets. The company partners with research institutions to test and promote improved seed varieties and runs farmer training programmes that reach over 15,000 participants annually. Greenfield Services is a member of the Agrochemicals Association of Kenya and holds an agrovet licence from the Pest Control Products Board.

What you will do:

In this role you will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts, reconciling bank statements, processing invoices and payments, and supporting the annual audit process. Day-to-day work involves reviewing expense claims from various departments, following up on outstanding receivables, and ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately in the accounting system. You will also prepare cash flow projections and variance analysis reports for the finance manager. The position requires someone who can handle high volumes of transactional data while maintaining accuracy and meeting strict monthly reporting deadlines. You will work closely with the procurement team to verify purchase orders and with the HR team to process payroll-related entries. Experience with tax computations including PAYE, VAT, and withholding tax is essential because the company relies on this role to file statutory returns on time. Familiarity with accounting standards such as IFRS for SMEs will be an advantage, particularly when preparing financial statements for management review.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; a Master's degree is an added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate organisational goals into actionable plans
  • Professional certification in the relevant field (e.g. CPA, PMP, CIPS, or equivalent)
  • Experience managing budgets and reporting to senior leadership
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills

Requirements:

If you meet the above qualifications and are interested in this opportunity, send your updated CV and a brief cover letter explaining why you are a good fit for the role. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within two weeks of the application deadline. Greenfield Services is an equal opportunity employer and does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process.
