Overview
The Pacific Area Seminaries and Institutes of Religion is seeking a well-organized, customer-focused individual for the role of Tongan Studies Teacher based at Eua Middle School in Tonga.

Our purpose is to help students deepen their conversion to Jesus Christ and His restored gospel, to qualify for the blessings of the temple, to prepare for missionary and Church service, and to build the kingdom of God. Church Schools provide students with an opportunity to obtain knowledge and skills that will assist them in their future educational and career endeavours.

Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of this role are to teach the theoretical and practical instruction of students. The successful applicant will understand the curriculum and exercise sound judgment in using it effectively. He or she will track grades and assess students’ progress according to defined criteria using student management programs.
Requirements
A teaching certificate would be an advantage. A bachelor’s degree in education (Middle School Level) or related is preferred
Has English language concepts and skills (verbal and written)
Has the ability to motivate students and increase learning
Is organized and hard-working, with the ability to work well with students including an understanding of proven appropriate classroom management strategies
Has experience with effective remediation and response to intervention practices
Basic to intermediate computer skills
Maintains temple worthiness standards
Proof legal right to work in Tonga
Police clearance is required
