Data Licensing Sales Lead, Intelligence Solutions – Evernorth Health Services – Remote
Position Summary
We are seeking a Sales Lead for Data Licensing to drive growth of Evernorth’s data commercialization business. This is a highly specialized role focused on licensing tokenized, privacy-preserving healthcare data assets to sophisticated buyers across life sciences, data aggregators, and advanced analytics organizations.
This individual will lead execution of complex, high-value data licensing opportunities from market development through deal structuring and contract execution. Success in this role requires deep experience in the data licensing ecosystem, an established network of buyers and partners, and the ability to structure creative, mutually beneficial agreements in a rapidly evolving market.
This is not a generalist sales role. It requires a senior individual contributor who understands the nuances of data rights, tokenization, linkage, downstream use, and monetization models, and who can operate effectively at the intersection of business, product, and legal.
Job Responsibilities
Drive Data Licensing revenue growth
Generate and convert new data licensing opportunities
Build and manage a high-value pipeline across direct customers and data marketplaces
Consistently meet or exceed sales targets
Bring an existing network and open doors quickly
Leverage established relationships across the data licensing ecosystem
Engage senior stakeholders at organizations that purchase, aggregate, or monetize data
Structure and execute complex, non-standard deals
Design flexible commercial models (e.g., licensing, revenue share, risk-sharing, hybrid arrangements)
Navigate non-standard deal structures that align incentives across parties
Drive deals forward in ambiguous or evolving situations
Lead sophisticated contract negotiations
Serve as the primary commercial owner of contract discussions, including NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, and data licensing agreements
Interpret and negotiate key terms related to data rights, IP, privacy, resale, and downstream use
Exercise strong judgment in distinguishing business versus legal decisions, including when to engage legal partners
Act as a market expert and internal thought partner
Deliver real-time insights on market dynamics, pricing models, and competitive positioning to leadership
Shape product strategy and roadmap based on direct client and market feedback
Partner closely with product, legal, and operations to evolve offerings
Operate independently in a fast-moving environment
Navigate ambiguity, shifting priorities, and emerging opportunities
Maintain strong forecasting, pipeline discipline, and execution rigor
Qualifications
Required experience:
Direct experience licensing tokenized data assets
Established network within the data/data licensing ecosystem
(e.g., pharma, analytics/consulting firms, data aggregators, data marketplaces)Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets
Demonstrated ability to structure and close complex deals, including non-standard or creative commercial arrangements
Deep experience leading contract negotiations
Ability to read, interpret, and negotiate legal agreements with confidence
Strong judgment in distinguishing business vs. legal decisions
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Proficiency with CRM and contract lifecycle tools (e.g., Salesforce, Icertis)
Ability to travel up to 15%

Preferred
Experience with healthcare data (claims, EMR, tokenized/linkable datasets)
Familiarity with privacy-preserving technologies (e.g., tokenization, de-identification, linkage)
Experience in organizations such as data aggregators, tokenization companies, or data marketplaces
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
