About Sterling & Co

Sterling & Co is a full-service law firm founded in 1998 and based in Nairobi with a branch office in Mombasa. The firm has a team of twenty-two advocates and handles corporate and commercial law, banking and finance, real estate transactions, employment disputes, and family law. Sterling & Co acts as external counsel to six commercial banks, three insurance companies, and a number of Saccos and microfinance institutions. The firm is listed on the panel of legal service providers for the Kenya Revenue Authority and the National Land Commission.

Sterling & Co is looking for a fibre optic technician to join its team in Nyeri. This is a Full-Time position offering a salary of KES 120,000 - KES 250,000 per month.

What you will do:

You will design, plan, and optimise the company's mobile network, ensuring that coverage, capacity, and quality of service meet agreed targets. Daily tasks include analysing network performance data, identifying coverage gaps and capacity bottlenecks, and recommending network expansion or optimisation solutions. The role involves working with RF planning tools, conducting drive tests, and analysing propagation models. You will also coordinate with the network deployment team on new site builds and upgrades. Experience with 4G and 5G network technologies, RF engineering principles, and network planning tools such as Atoll or Mentum Planet is required. The position involves a mix of office-based and field-based work.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; a Master's degree is an added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate organisational goals into actionable plans
  • Professional certification in the relevant field (e.g. CPA, PMP, CIPS, or equivalent)
  • Experience managing budgets and reporting to senior leadership
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
