About Meridian Corp

Meridian Corp is a logistics and freight forwarding company that specialises in cross-border cargo movement between the port of Mombasa and landlocked destinations in Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, and the eastern DRC. The company runs a fleet of 120 trucks and operates bonded warehouses in Mombasa, Malaba, and Nimule. Meridian Corp was established in 2003 and has since handled over 50,000 container shipments. The company is a licensed customs broker and offers end-to-end supply chain solutions including cargo tracking, insurance, and last-mile delivery. Meridian holds the IATA accreditation for air cargo handling.

What you will do:

You will be responsible for designing and implementing training programmes, conducting training needs assessments, and evaluating the effectiveness of learning interventions. The role involves working with department heads to identify skill gaps, developing training curricula, and delivering sessions on topics such as leadership, communication, compliance, and technical skills. You will manage the training budget, coordinate with external trainers and training providers, and maintain training records for audit and compliance purposes. The position also involves supporting the performance management process, coaching managers on how to conduct effective appraisals, and helping to develop individual development plans for high-potential employees. Experience in e-learning platform management and blended learning design is an advantage.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in a relevant field from a recognised institution
  • Minimum 1 year of working experience in a similar role
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Kiswahili
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Must be a Kenyan citizen aged 21 years or above
