Summit Partners is a mid-sized accounting and business advisory practice with offices in Nairobi, Kisumu, and Nakuru. Founded by two former Big Four auditors in 2012, the firm serves over three hundred SME clients across manufacturing, retail, and the non-profit sector. Services include statutory audits, tax planning, outsourced CFO support, and business process reviews. Summit Partners is registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and is a member firm of the Pan-African Federation of Accountants. The team currently stands at sixty-five professionals, including eighteen certified public accountants.
What you will do:
You will manage the daily operations of the retail store, including staff supervision, stock management, visual merchandising, and customer service. Daily tasks include opening and closing the store, managing cash registers, monitoring sales performance, and ensuring that the store is clean and well-organised. The role involves recruiting and training shop assistants, creating staff schedules, and conducting performance appraisals. You will also manage inventory, coordinate with the warehouse on stock replenishment, and implement loss prevention measures. The position requires strong leadership skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to analyse sales data to identify trends and opportunities. Experience with point-of-sale systems and knowledge of retail KPIs such as sales per square metre and stock turnover are important.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar position
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in relevant industry software and tools
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
