Horizon Logistics is a last-mile delivery and e-commerce fulfilment company that operates in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, and Eldoret. Founded in 2018, the company handles over 15,000 parcels daily for online sellers, pharmacies, and grocery platforms. Horizon runs a fleet of 200 motorcycles, 40 vans, and three sortation hubs. The company has developed proprietary routing software that reduces delivery times by an average of thirty-five percent compared to industry norms. Horizon Logistics works with Jumia, Glovo, and over five hundred independent merchants.
What you will do:
You will plan, execute, and close projects according to agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Daily tasks include developing project plans, assigning tasks to team members, tracking progress against milestones, and managing risks and issues. The role involves preparing status reports, facilitating project meetings, and communicating with stakeholders at all levels including clients, sponsors, and team members. You will also manage project budgets, approve expenditures, and ensure that financial reports are accurate and up to date. Experience with project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or PMBOK is important, and a PMP or PRINCE2 certification is preferred. The position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and experience in managing cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; a Master's degree is an added advantage
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
- Strategic thinking with the ability to translate organisational goals into actionable plans
- Professional certification in the relevant field (e.g. CPA, PMP, CIPS, or equivalent)
- Experience managing budgets and reporting to senior leadership
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
