What you will do:
You will develop, implement, and monitor the company's occupational health and safety programmes to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Daily tasks include conducting workplace safety inspections, investigating accidents and near-misses, preparing safety reports, and delivering safety training sessions. The role involves ensuring compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the Work Injury Benefits Act, and other applicable regulations. You will also manage the company's fire safety programme, including fire drills, fire extinguisher inspections, and evacuation procedures. A diploma or degree in occupational health and safety, certification as a safety officer, and experience in a manufacturing or construction environment are required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar position
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in relevant industry software and tools
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
