Aberdair Aviation, a dynamic pan-African aviation group which operates both fixed wing and helicopter aircraft from bases in East and West Africa, is looking for a qualified and experienced Technical Records Officer in Nanyuki, Kenya. ·
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering or Degree in Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in technical records management, within an approved CAMO environment, regional operator, or certified MRO/AMO Facility.
- Certification: Aircraft documentation course preferred.
- Deep understanding of civil aviation documentation requirements regarding continuing airworthiness management.
- Precise tracking capability to detect subtle data transcription errors in multi-character alphanumeric part and serial numbers.
- Excellent communication skills to interface smoothly between high-pressure hangar-floor production teams and the corporate CAMO Manager based remotely at the AOC
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the CAMO & Reliability Manager: ·
- Keeping an accurate and up-to-date record of flying hours and cycles of each aircraft/engine in the relevant logbooks;
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date aircraft component tracking system
- Opening job cards and close them after review for completeness and accuracy; ·
- Monitoring all time-expired items and all mandatory inspections;
- Store aircraft OC (On-condition) components, TBO (Time Between Overhaul), and LLPs with correct traceability documentation Updating and preparing aircraft monthly utilization reports; Securing storage and preservation of maintenance records required by regulations;
- Monitoring technical records for compliance and retrieval efficiency ·
- Perform rigorous quality checks on completed scheduled maintenance packages on-site to ensure full Certificate of Release to Service (CRS) documentation is legally closed.
- Verify parts traceability documentation-specifically ensuring valid releases, FAA Form 8130-3 certificates, or EASA Form 1 documents accompany newly unboxed components Retrieve, present, and defend technical records dynamically on the hangar floor during unannounced ramp checks, safety investigations, or formal end-of-year regulatory audits
