The Rothschild Foundation Hanadiv Europe is accepting applications for its Digital Heritage Projects 2026. Eligible organisations are encouraged to review the details below and submit their applications before the deadline.
About the Programme
The Digital Heritage Projects Grant encourages organisations to develop innovative digital projects that make Jewish heritage more accessible, engaging, and meaningful for audiences. The grant supports projects that use digital tools to connect people with Jewish heritage through thoughtful planning, strong methodology, recognised standards, and professional delivery. This funding opportunity recognises the growing importance of digital access in cultural heritage preservation and education.
Digital heritage can take many forms including virtual exhibitions, online archives, interactive maps, digitised manuscript collections, educational apps, and immersive storytelling experiences. The foundation is interested in projects that go beyond simple digitisation and instead create genuine engagement between audiences and Jewish cultural heritage. Successful projects demonstrate a clear understanding of their target audience and how digital tools can meet their needs.
Funding is available for an initial 12 month pilot project with the possibility of applying for additional funding in the future. This pilot phase allows organisations to test their ideas, develop prototypes, gather user feedback, and demonstrate impact before committing to larger scale implementation. The foundation views this approach as a responsible way to support innovation while managing risk.
The Rothschild Foundation Hanadiv Europe has a longstanding commitment to preserving and promoting Jewish heritage across the continent. By focusing on digital projects the foundation aims to reach wider and more diverse audiences including younger generations who increasingly expect digital access to cultural materials.
