The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has flagged a fake recruitment advertisement circulating on social media, urging Kenyans to disregard the fraudulent notice and avoid sharing personal information through unofficial links.
The Commission noted with concern that a false advertisement purporting to announce an “IEBC 2026 Recruitment Intake” has been widely shared across various social media platforms. In a statement, the IEBC categorically stated that the advertisement is false, did not originate from the Commission, and should be completely disregarded.
Members of the public have been advised not to submit applications or disclose any personal information through links contained in the fraudulent advertisement or any other unofficial recruitment platform. The Commission warned that such scams are designed to harvest personal data from unsuspecting job seekers.
The IEBC reminded the public that all legitimate recruitment opportunities are advertised exclusively through the official IEBC Jobs Portal at https://jobs.iebc.or.ke and the Commission’s verified communication channels. Kenyans are encouraged to always verify any recruitment announcements through these official platforms before taking any action.
The Commission further cautioned individuals against creating, publishing, or circulating false or misleading information intended to deceive the public. Such actions not only mislead job seekers but also undermine public trust in the Commission’s operations.
This warning comes as the IEBC continues to implement its recruitment processes transparently and professionally, ensuring that all opportunities are accessible to qualified Kenyans through proper channels.
