Founded in 2011 and based in Nairobi, Ironbridge has raised two funds totalling USD 120 million and has made nine investments, five of which have been successfully exited. The firm takes majority or significant minority stakes and actively supports portfolio companies with operational improvements, governance strengthening, and expansion capital. What you will do:
You will be responsible for managing the company's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Daily tasks involve monitoring network performance, troubleshooting connectivity issues, managing VPN connections for remote workers, and implementing network security policies. The role also includes managing the server infrastructure, both on-premises and cloud-based, performing backups, applying patches and updates, and ensuring high availability of critical systems. You will document network configurations, maintain asset inventories, and prepare reports on system uptime and incident response. The position requires experience with enterprise networking equipment, server operating systems, and virtualisation platforms. You will participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency support.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar position
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in relevant industry software and tools
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
