The programme is intended to provide young graduates and qualified ICT professionals with practical experience supporting the use of digital technology in schools.
Internship Positions
The programme offers 1,000 internship opportunities for suitable candidates to be deployed to schools at the sub-county level.
Successful interns will support schools in implementing digital learning activities, maintaining digital devices and assisting teachers and learners in the use of technology.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Must have graduated not earlier than 2022.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a specialization in ICT, Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Diploma in ICT or ICT Integration in Education.
- Have knowledge or skills in networking and infrastructure.
- Have skills in application development, information security or project management.
- Have knowledge of ICT, education, e-learning or content development.
- Demonstrate an interest in research and innovation.
- Be willing to work full-time and accept deployment to any Sub-county Education Office.
- Must not have previously benefited from a similar internship programme.
Key Responsibilities
Interns will be expected to:
- Assist with e-learning and digital content development.
- Support the training of primary school teachers in the use of digital literacy devices.
- Assist in implementing the Digital Literacy Programme.
- Promote innovative uses of technology in education.
- Support safe, secure and ethical use of technology.
- Help integrate ICT into teaching, learning and assessment.
- Assist with the implementation of ICT policies and procedures.
- Provide first-line ICT support and basic maintenance of digital equipment.
Internship Duration
The internship will run for 12 months and is non-renewable.
Successful candidates will receive a stipend at a rate determined by the Government and will be awarded a certificate upon successful completion of the programme.
