Westmore Associates is an architectural and interior design firm that provides master planning, architectural design, interior fit-out, and project supervision services for commercial, residential, and institutional projects. Founded in 2004, the firm has designed over 250 projects including office towers, shopping centres, schools, hospitals, and residential estates. Westmore employs thirty architects and interior designers and is registered with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Kenya. What you will do:
In this role you will be responsible for measuring and valuing construction work, preparing bills of quantities, and certifying payments to contractors. You will conduct regular site measurements to verify the quantities of work completed, compare them against the contract bills, and prepare interim payment certificates for the client's approval. The role also involves preparing variation orders, evaluating contractors' claims, and ensuring that the project remains within the approved budget. You will work closely with the project manager, engineers, and architects to resolve any discrepancies between the design intent and actual construction. Knowledge of local construction standards, the Joint Building Council conditions of contract, and current market rates for construction materials and labour is essential.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar position
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in relevant industry software and tools
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
