Brookfield Corp is a telecommunications infrastructure company that builds, owns, and operates telecom towers and fibre optic networks in Kenya. Founded in 2013, Brookfield owns and manages 800 tower sites leased to mobile network operators and internet service providers. The company also deploys fibre optic cables along major highways and within urban areas, with a network spanning 4,000 fibre kilometres. Brookfield employs 250 staff and is licensed by the Communications Authority of Kenya. The company has attracted investment from two international infrastructure funds and is expanding into the DRC and Ethiopia.
What you will do:
You will work with vulnerable children and families, conducting assessments, developing care plans, and providing support to ensure the safety and well-being of children at risk. Daily tasks include conducting home visits, interviewing children and family members, preparing court reports, and coordinating with government agencies, NGOs, and community-based organisations. The role involves managing a caseload of children and families, monitoring progress, and making recommendations for interventions such as family preservation, foster care placement, or reunification. Strong knowledge of the Children Act, child protection policies, and community-based child protection mechanisms is essential. The position requires extensive travel within the assigned area and the ability to work with sensitive and sometimes distressing cases.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar position
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in relevant industry software and tools
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
