Northbridge Corp is a pharmaceutical distribution company that supplies medicines, medical consumables, and laboratory reagents to hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies across Kenya. Licensed by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, Northbridge was founded in 2008 and operates from a 40,000-square-foot distribution centre in Nairobi's Industrial Area. The company works with over fifty local and international manufacturers and distributes more than 3,000 product lines. Northbridge Corp employs 200 staff and runs a fleet of thirty refrigerated and ambient delivery vehicles that serve clients in all forty-seven counties.
What you will do:
You will manage the daily operations of the retail store, including staff supervision, stock management, visual merchandising, and customer service. Daily tasks include opening and closing the store, managing cash registers, monitoring sales performance, and ensuring that the store is clean and well-organised. The role involves recruiting and training shop assistants, creating staff schedules, and conducting performance appraisals. You will also manage inventory, coordinate with the warehouse on stock replenishment, and implement loss prevention measures. The position requires strong leadership skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to analyse sales data to identify trends and opportunities. Experience with point-of-sale systems and knowledge of retail KPIs such as sales per square metre and stock turnover are important.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar position
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in relevant industry software and tools
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
