The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is inviting applications from eligible teachers for an online training programme focused on developing quality assessment items for Competency Based Assessment.
The training is intended for teachers serving at Senior School and Vocational Level.
Training Details
The online training will run from 12 October to 30 October 2026.
Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive certification and may be considered for future KNEC assessment-related assignments when opportunities arise.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Be a teacher of unquestionable integrity.
- Be a qualified professional, subject specialist or expert in the relevant area.
- Currently teach the subject being applied for at Senior School or Vocational Level.
- Have the required academic and professional qualifications.
- Be familiar with the relevant curriculum designs.
- Have at least one year of teaching experience.
- Be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
- Have a formal recommendation from the head of their institution.
Teachers who have previously undergone KNEC training in item writing are advised not to apply.
