NAIROBI, Kenya – June 11, 2026 – Lake Turkana Wind Power (LTWP), one of Africa’s largest and most prestigious power generating projects, has announced multiple job vacancies ranging from entry-level internships to specialized supervisory positions. The opportunities, posted on June 11, 2026, have a deadline of June 18, 2026, giving interested candidates just one week to apply.

Internship Opportunities Across Eight Disciplines

LTWP is offering eight internship positions, each designed to provide hands-on experience in renewable energy operations. Notably, several of these internships are exclusively reserved for candidates from Laisamis Constituency, reflecting the company’s commitment to local community development.

Technical Intern (Laisamis Constituency only)
This role focuses on gaining practical knowledge of wind farm operations and maintenance. The intern will learn about equipment inspection, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, power dispatch operations, and safety compliance. Candidates should have recently completed a relevant engineering degree or diploma.

Project Management Office (PMO) Intern (Laisamis Constituency only)
The PMO intern will support civil works supervision, project scheduling, risk assessments, and quality control. Responsibilities include site supervision, contractor performance monitoring, and inspection of civil works such as earthworks, concrete structures, drainage, and roads. A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline is required.

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Intern (Laisamis Constituency only)
This role involves supporting safety culture development, incident investigations, and compliance monitoring. The intern will assist with the rollout of a Safety Culture App, participate in incident investigations, conduct risk assessments, and help maintain HSE records. A degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, EHS, or Engineering is required, with a NEBOSH certificate being an added advantage.

Communications Intern (Laisamis Constituency only)
The communications intern will capture high-quality photographs, manage social media content, draft internal and external communications, and support community relations and event organization. Candidates should have a diploma or degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field. Strong photography skills and familiarity with design software such as Canva or Adobe Photoshop are advantageous.

Finance Intern (Nairobi-based)
Open to Nairobi-based applicants, this role supports weekly payments, VAT reconciliations, ledger maintenance, fixed asset management, and petty cash management. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or possess a professional qualification in CPA or ACCA.

Human Resource Intern (Nairobi-based)
The HR intern will assist with records management and digitization, HRIS support, learning and development documentation, recruitment coordination, and employee engagement activities. A Higher National Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration is required, along with foundational knowledge of Kenya’s Employment Act.

Legal Intern (Nairobi-based)
This position supports the legal department with legal research, contract management, compliance tracking, and governance documentation. Candidates must hold an LL.B degree from a recognized institution and demonstrate interest in corporate, commercial, or energy law.

Professional Positions

Projects Quantity Surveyor (Marsabit)
This full-time role requires a bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying from a recognized university and at least five years of experience in a similar position. The successful candidate must be a registered member of the Board of Registered Architects and Quantity Surveyors and the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya.

Key responsibilities include cost planning, budget control, procurement management, financial reporting, and contract management. The quantity surveyor will be involved in all project stages, from concept and design development through construction to project close-out. Additional duties include obtaining NEMA approvals, supporting local contractor capacity building, and preparing final accounts.

Security Control Room and Systems Supervisor (Nairobi)
This position requires a minimum of five years of experience in a security control room environment, with at least two years in a supervisory role. Candidates should hold a diploma in Security Management, ICT, Electronics, or a related technical field.

The supervisor will oversee daily control room operations, manage CCTV, access control, electronic guarding systems, two-way radio communication, and vehicle tracking systems. Responsibilities include supervising control room personnel, coordinating real-time incident response, conducting system health checks, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with LTWP security SOPs and HSE policies.
